30 July 2026, Sandton Some evenings are about the guest list. Others are about the

setting. Shades in the City: After Dark was about creating a moment where fashion,

culture and meaningful connections came together in true Freckle Eyewear style.

Hosted at Nook in Sandton, the evening brought together a carefully curated group

of tastemakers, creators and industry leaders for an intimate experience celebrating

luxury eyewear and the people who define modern style.

Opening the evening, Freckle Eyewear Marketing Manager Thami reminded guests

that the event represented something much bigger than fashion.

"At Freckle Eyewear, we have always believed that luxury isn't simply something you

wear, it's something you experience. Every interaction with our brand is designed to

feel personal, intentional and unforgettable."

He reflected on the inspiration behind the Shades in the City campaign, describing

Johannesburg as a city that is bold, dynamic and sophisticated: a place where

creativity, ambition and culture intersect every day. The campaign celebrates the city

through the people who shape its culture, with Shades in the City: After Dark marking

its next chapter.

Hosted by Freckle Eyewear brand ambassador Teko Modise, the evening offered

guests a glimpse into his interpretation of modern luxury through a curated selection

of premium eyewear, exceptional hospitality and meaningful conversations.

Throughout the experience, Teko engaged with guests, sharing the style, taste and

confidence that have made him the perfect embodiment of the Freckle Eyewear

brand.

Among those in attendance were K Naomi, Lerato Kganyago, Teddy Geldart and

Phupho Gumede, alongside a distinguished mix of personalities from fashion, media

and entertainment, each bringing their own perspective on style and self-expression.

The evening was elevated through collaborations with two exceptional partners. Don

Julio 1942 delivered a refined tequila experience that perfectly complemented the

sophisticated setting, while Gourmet Boutique introduced guests to an exclusive

Royal Ossetra caviar tasting, adding another layer of indulgence to the night. As Thami

noted, these partnerships helped create "an experience that goes far beyond a

traditional product showcase."

As the evening unfolded, DJ Slade and DJ Speesta curated the soundtrack, seamlessly

setting the mood from relaxed networking over cocktails to a vibrant celebration that

carried guests late into the night. Their sets brought together soulful house, amapiano

and contemporary sounds that perfectly complemented the sophisticated

atmosphere.

Every detail, from the ambience to the culinary experience and music, was

intentionally designed to celebrate the art of luxury living while creating space for

authentic conversations and lasting connections.

At Freckle Eyewear, we believe luxury is more than what you wear, it is how you

experience the world. Shades in the City continues to reflect that philosophy, bringing

together remarkable people, iconic brands and unforgettable moments that inspire

our community to see the city through a different lens.

This gallery

captures just a glimpse of an evening where style met substance,

partnerships became experiences, and host Teko Modise welcomed an extraordinary

community to celebrate luxury, craftsmanship and the unmistakable spirit of

Johannesburg.
